Please come to Parish Faith Formation on February 8,2012 when Bishop Hebda will be here!
We are very excited to start the 2011 – 2012 Family Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation year. Working with our parish children to build upon the faith you as parents have instilled is truly a blessing. Our Wednesday evenings spent in prayer and discussion have found a special place in our staffs’ hearts as we grow in our understanding of God’s word and how to live it everyday.
This year there have been a few changes within our staff. After five years of building this program for our parish, Mary Plude has decided to now devote her time to her family, her classroom, as well as her coaching responsibilities. However, our teacher base has grown from Becky Wimmer, Karen Peterson and myself, to also include Cherie Helm and Jill Tabaczka. I am now serving as the coordinator with Fr. Matthew. Working together, we have put together a wonderful program that will nurture stronger and surer footing in your child’s spiritual life while enjoying fun projects and activities.
We will meet three out of four Wednesdays per month with 1st through 5th grade students. The 6th graders will be joining the middle school youth group this year. Please contact Mrs. Kim Swidorski if you have a 6th through 12th grade student. Also, we are devoting one Wednesday per month to a family dinner and discussion night. After dinner we will break into youth and adult catechism groups. Our family dinner and discussion nights are open to all parishioners, not just those participating in Sacramental Preparation or Family Faith Formation. The dates for these evenings will be published in the bulletin.
Our first session is Wednesday, September 14th at 6:00 p.m. Parents and children should attend our opening informational meeting so that we may pass out our meeting schedule for the year, discuss our Sacramental Preparation program, answer all of your questions, and take the first step as a family in our faith journey.
